Joe "Stones" Miller

Kansas City, Missouri, Heavyweight Amateur Stones Record
Holder 2004
Joe Miller is a immense source of energy of our
Factory. Joe is a former Marine Reservist and married to Gina, and father to Jared, their
son.

He is a dedicated family man and a caring
and giving person. Joe once pulled a woman from a burning car after an accident
and stopped two neo-Nazis from harassing an elderly African American woman.
Gina is a Middle School Language Arts
teacher, Language Arts Department Chair, and working on her Ph.D. in literacy
and critical pedagogy as well as a fabulous mother.

Although Jared is very young, he already knows who Sven Karlson is and
can do a great imitation of his "Viking Power" motto. Look for great
things from Jared Miller in the future. He is already working on plyometrics and
practicing his Olympic lifting technique.

Joe is a valuable addition to the Freak
Factory. His experience ranges from strongman events to the Scottish Heavy
Athletics, where Joe first fell in love with "heavy" events.

As the saying goes, there are no
ex-marines, Once a Marine, always a Marine. Joe has exemplified this ethic for
our Factory and many of us tap into Joe's energy to help us drive ourselves
further than we ever dreamed possible.

Joe is our smallest heavy
weight at roughly 250 lbs. Joe is a
very athletic heavy weight with lots of speed and explosive power.

Joe’s strength background stems from powerlifting and the Scottish
Highland Games. The majority of his
strength comes from the deadlift as Joe is one of the best natural pullers in
his weight class.

Joe is also a top
“A” class caber tosser with many wins under his belt.
In just a short time, Joe has shown great prowess in the farmer’s walk
and tire flip events.

Like the other
Freaks, Joe has a never-say-die training mentality and has been known to yell at
himself in the middle of training an event.
A
testament to how tough Joe is…he doesn't seem to
feel pain or at least, submit to it.

Where others would call it a day, Joe
finishes the job.

One
day at the Freak Factory, it
turns out that Joe had compressed two discs in his spine while deadlifting.
Unbeknownst to Joe the seriousness of his injury, he continued to train
at the Freak Factory for two more weeks before having to tend to his injury. By
his performances displayed, you would never even know that Joe had hurt himself.

Joe
is a true gladiator and an inspiration to all of us at the Freak
Factory.

Joe Quotes:
