Here there be Freaks!

As the Freak Factory is made of Freaks, it would behoove us to show them to you. First, a little about what goes into making the cut.

The members of the Freak Factory are carefully selected by a secret process. It is a difficult process involving screening, psych testing, interviews, bribery and possibly mayhem. It is not enough to be strong, or funny, or rich. You must be dedicated to bettering yourself and helping your fellow Freaks to do the same. You must be thick skinned, for the teasing and harassment among The Freak Factory's members is legendary. You must not accept defeat. You must amuse us. You must be as willing to laugh at yourself as at others. Our dogs must like you. If our dogs don't like you, you must leave. Immediately.

You must have honor and integrity. You must think calluses are cool. You must not be afraid of pain, either yours or others. This eliminates quite a few prospective Freaks.

The Freak Factory is a clean gym. By that we mean that we do not use nor condone the use of steroids or other illegal performance enhancing substances. If the only way you can maximize your strength is to rely on artificial means, keep on moving, The Freak Factory is not for you. We respect that others may not feel this way and we do not judge them. We do not test our members as we rely on their senses of honor.

After passing the intensive introductory phase, the new person, or "boot" is allowed to attend a training session on the understanding that it is on a temporary basis only. Strength is not the most important factor in a new boot, as everyone's goal is to get stronger. Neither is size or weight, as we have strength athletes of all sizes and shapes. The most important Freak factors are trust, integrity, honor, a willingness to help others, a thick skin to handle the ribbing of the other athletes and most importantly the inability to quit. After consideration of the boot's performance and interaction with the other members of The Freak Factory, an invitation may or may not be issued to return for a second session. Not being accepted is no shame, as not everyone is cut out to be Freak material. Many times new boots have ventured forth with us only to find out they don't have the determination, the heart or guts, the emotional drive to do their best and even more importantly to drive the other Freaks to do their best. We have no use for selfishness or energy vampires and eliminate them as fast as we identify them. Personality or discipline conflicts also eliminate many hopefuls.

On these pages you see those who made the cut.
